“There are things one wouldn’t find anywhere else, which is surely the mark of a journal having carved out a niche for itself.” – Time Literary Supplement

“The emergence of Tolka is perhaps the most exciting event to occur on the Irish publishing landscape in recent memory. The fact of its existence is itself an incentive for writers to strike out for new horizons, expanding the frontiers of literary possibility.” – Rob Doyle

“My experience with Tolka has been hugely formative for me in the development of my prose work… [it] has quickly become an absolutely indispensable part of the Irish writing community.” – Jessica Traynor
